NTI Introduces DVI Extender via Singlemode or Multimode Fiber Optic CableAURORA, OH: Network Technologies Inc today announced the addition of the XTENDEX® ST-2FODVI-LC DVI Extender via Fiber Optic Cable to its popular line of DVI extenders. The DVI Extender via Fiber Optic Cable locates a single link digital DVI display away from a computer up to 4,920 feet (1,500 meters) using singlemode fiber optic cable and 1,640 feet (500 meters) using multimode fiber optic cable. Each extender consists of a transmitter that connects to a computer and a receiver that connects to a monitor. The extender reads and restores EDID (extended display identification data when the receiver is plugged into a display, and supports resolutions up to 1920x1200. Two strand single mode or multimode LC fiber optic cable transmits the signal without RF interference for sensitive applications. The small form factor allows for easy connection and placement, allowing for the cables to be previously installed in conduit prior to extender installation.
