SNMPv3 now supported on NTI's Enterprise Server Environment Monitoring System
AURORA, OH (February 9, 2010) - Network Technologies Inc (NTI) today announced its ENVIROMUX-SEMS-16 Enterprise Server Environment Monitoring System now supports SNMPv3. The ENVIROMUX Server Environment Monitoring System monitors critical environmental conditions, such as temperature, humidity, liquid water presence, motion, intrusion, and vibration. When a sensor goes out of range of a configurable threshold, the system will notify you via email, LEDs, alarm beacon, web page, network management (SNMP), voice phone calls (via Automatic Voice Dialer System), and SMS messages (via external GSM modem). The Simple Network Management Protocol Version 3 (SNMPv3) agent can be used to monitor and control sensors and settings of the ENVIROMUX-SEMS-16 system from a remote station, and send encrypted alerts or log messages over a network. Version 3 of the SNMP Protocol specifies important security features such as message integrity, message authentication, and packet encryption for secure communications between devices. The ENVIROMUX-SEMS-16 supports all versions of complete SNMP access, including sending SNMP traps, EngineID, and configuration (read/write) capabilities to modify settings using the SNMP browser and MIB file.
