8 Port Mac KVM Switch Now Offers On Screen Display

January 1998

AURORA, OH: Network Technologies Inc announces the addition of On Screen Display to their Mac keyboard-video-mouse (KVM) switches that allow one user to command up to 128 computers. Network managers can use the new On Screen Display (OSD) feature to create meaningful names to organize and quickly locate specific servers. The OSD appears directly on the user's monitor, so all SCAN, BROADCAST, and COMMAND functions can be viewed and controlled directly with the keyboard. The switch can be rack mounted and contained in a cabinet system away from the control point to further eliminate clutter.

NTI's Mac switches can be used to control any Mac computer with standard cables. Computers can boot without a keyboard and mouse attached, then hot-plug devices to operate the computers. Embedded micros emulate keyboard and mouse presence 100% of the time so computers hard or soft boot error-free. This switch supports 1600x1200 graphic quality resolution with no degradation at 150 MHz bandwidth. The On Screen Display feature is built in, so it will never need to be upgraded as more computers are added and regular (non-OSD) Mac switches are cascaded off of the original OSD switch.

The SE-4M15D-8-OSD (8-Port Mac Switch) is housed in a plastic case (8.8 x 7.8 x 6.5), is powered by 110 or 220 VAC, comes with a one year warranty, and is available from stock. It retails for $1315.
