ST-IPHDMI-2G: What is the Expected Latency When Using A Single Switch or Multiple Switches?
The measured encode/decode latency within a single switch is typically 37 milliseconds. When connecting multiple switches together, there may be additional latency depending on the nature of the actual switches used. Each additional switch usually introduces 3-5 milliseconds of additional latency.
So, if 3 switches are connected together, the expected latency should be within 43-47 milliseconds (37 + 2x3 to 37 + 2x5).
