E-LD-LCx-y: The Low-Cost Liquid Detection Rope is routed in such a way that it has to cross over itself. Can this cause problems?

The E-LD-LCx-y can short and should not be crossed over itself, unlike the E-LDx-y, which has a non-conductive polymer mesh covering its liquid detection wire.
