Can I control 8 Sun Fire servers remotely till OK prompt level using either the SERIMUX -SECURE or SERIMUX-SCRP console switch?

Yes, both the SERIMUX-SECURE and SERIMUX-SCRP console switches are capable of providing secure remote management of 8 Sun Fire Servers till OK prompt level.

To do so, follow the steps below:

1. Connect the SERIMUX-SECURE or SERIMUX-SCRP console switch to the serial port of the server.

2. Configure the server to enable console services at the serial port.

3. Configure the SERIMUX-SECURE or SERIMUX-SCRP console switch to allow SSH (or telnet) sessions.

4. Make an SSH or telnet connection to the console switch:

5. At the prompt, type ?halt? to halt the computer and get to the OK prompt.

Note: Telnet on Solaris and Putty on Windows works properly for a telnet
session.
