Aurora, OH: Network Technologies Inc announces the addition of a Universal Serial Bus (USB) Plug-In Card to its line of modules for the ST Multi-User/Multi-Platform Electronic KVM Switch. The new CPU-USB module allows computers with USB connectors for the keyboard and mouse to attach to our line of ST switches. Now NTI can support computers, which utilize a USB connection port for the keyboard and mouse.
KVM (Keyboard, Video, and Mouse) Switches allow the control of multiple computers with only one keyboard, monitor and mouse. The NTI ST family of KVM switches enables up to eight users to simultaneously access and control 32 computers across multiple platforms, eliminating the need for switches dedicated to each platform. Each switch has vacant slots for the number of users and computers specified. Populate the switch with your choice of Plug-In modules for your configuration of PCs, MACs and SUNs. Modules can be added or changed later as needs change. All users can access any computer at any time without interfering with each other. The ST Multi-User/Multi-Platform KVM Switch is compatible with all PS/2 compatible computers including laptops, RS6000, SGI and HP9000; any Sun computers, including Ultras; and all MACs, including Mac Duo Docks, G3s and Macs with dongle devices. Users can expand up to 512 computers by combining the ST-MX with the ST units. The CPU-USB adds to our line of CPU plug-in cards including; CPU-PC, CPU-SUN, CPU-MAC. Once the computers are attached, multiple users can access them through user plug in cards USR-PC, USR-SUN, USR-SUN-V and USR-MAC. NTI's Multi-User ST switches are easy to set up, using existing cables for the keyboard and mouse interface and standard cables for the video and CPU connections. A multiscan VGA monitor is required to display the different outputs from different platforms at a crisp and clear 1600x1200 resolution. All ST switches, regardless of platform, are software independent and fully Y2K compliant. On the CPU-USB plug-in card, the keyboard and mouse connector is one single connection USB port and the video connector is female 15 pin high density. The USB port is hot pluggable, i.e. the user can plug and unplug the USB connector while the switch and computer are on. Input options such as the advanced On Screen Display interface with password security and dual redundant power makes the ST switch simple to use in Enterprise data centers. Other options include an RS232 Feature or Hard Wired Remote. The ST Multi-user/Multi-Platform KVM Switches start at $1,620.00 for a base unit containing slots for 2 users and 8 computers. The base unit requires modules for each user and CPU being plugged into the unit. The CPU-USB Plug-In Card is $85.00 per unit and USR cards start at $100.00 for a MAC card. Each unit comes with a one-year warranty and free technical support. Interface cables between your CPUs and the ST Multi-User/Multi-Platform KVM Switch are required for proper operation and are available in lengths starting at three feet at a cost of $6.00. |
