How to Watch 4 Television Programs on a Single TV Screen
The SPLITMUX-HD-4RT can be used with multiple satellite boxes and computer live streams to allow up to 4 television programs to be displayed on a single television screen. In this example, the four connected sources are a wired set-top box, a laptop with a live streaming TV channel, and two wireless satellite boxes. Audio channels from each source can be independently switched or mixed, i.e. only one audio source or up to four sources can be playing at once. With this configuration, the user can display up to four television programs on one display and selectively choose which audio channels to listen to at any time. To quickly switch between the four audio channels in Quad mode, use the optional IR remote control or the SPLITMUX's front panel buttons.
  •   How to Switch up to 32 Inputs into 1 HDMI Multiviewer Output
Simultaneously Display the Video from the HDMI Multiviewer on 8 Monitors Up to 230ft Away
The SPLITMUX-HD-4RT can be used with the DVI Matrix Switch (SM-nXm-DVI-LCD) to allow a selection of 4 sources out of up to 32 inputs to be displayed on the multiviewer output. Multiple DVI sources are connected to the input of the DVI Matrix Switch. A DVI to HDMI cable (DVI-HD-xx-MM) cable is required to connect four DVI Matrix Switch outputs to the Multiviewer inputs, and the Multiviewer output is connected to a single display.

With this configuration, up to 32 DVI sources can be switched to the four Multiviewer inputs that will be displayed on a single monitor. In the diagram example, source 1, 4, 6, and 8 have been switched to feed to DVI Matrix Switch outputs 1-4, and they are displayed in quadrants on the single display.
  •   How to Cascade SPLITMUX-HD-4RT and SPLITMUX-C5HDR-4LC
How to Cascade SPLITMUX-HD-4RT and SPLITMUX-C5HDR-4LC
The SPLITMUX-HD-4RT and SPLITMUX-C5HDR-4LC can be cascaded together in any combination, with either model as the master and/or slaves in any combination and any number of slave levels. The SPLITMUX-HD-4RT supports Full Screen, PiP, Quad, and Custom modes. The SPLITMUX-C5HDR-4LC supports Full Screen PiP, and Quad modes. Keep both limitations in mind when configuring the desired cascade effect. Cascaded outputs for the SPLITMUX-C5HDR-4LC can be extended using the remote unit as long as the combined CAT6/6a/7 cable length between all levels of the cascade does not exceed 250 feet.

In this example, the SPLITMUX-HD-4RT is the master unit, and the four slaves are SPLITMUX-C5HDR-4LC units. Slave 1 and 2 are configured as Full Screen mode, Slave 3 as PiP mode, and Slave 4 as Quad mode. Input/Slave 1 is also extended up to 250 feet using a single CAT6/6a/7 cable. Using Custom Mode on the master unit, the following inputs are configured as below:

    Input/Slave 1:
      - Background image
      - Red border

    Input/Slave 2:
      - Vertical image using adjusted aspect ratio
      - Blue border

    Input/Slave 3:
      - Windowed image (Quad image)
      - Green border

    Input/Slave 4:
      - Overlapping windowed image (PiP image)
      - Yellow border

Note: SPLITMUX-C5HDR-4LC is not TAA or HDCP compliant.

  •  How to Zoom, Pan, & Crop the Image from Any Video Source
How to Zoom, Pan, & Crop the Image from Any Video Source
The SPLITMUX-HD-4RT can zoom, pan and crop each individual video input in Custom Mode. Users can choose between the 'Move & Scale' or 'Pan & Crop' editing modes.

In the 'Move & Scale' mode, the display position can be dragged, and the image can be scaled or stretched. If the aspect ratio is set to 'Fixed Ratio,' the aspect ratio of the input is preserved to prevent distortion when scaling. Each channel also has a zoom bar that can be dragged to the right to focus on the selected area.

In the 'Pan & Crop' mode, the actual image area can be cropped to a custom window size while maintaining the image aspect ratio, and its position can be panned within the cropped area.

Note: the Pan feature can only be used when an input source is connected and the image is cropped or zoomed. Each image can only be panned to the border of the full scaled image.

Zoom: enlarge the view of the source within the window frame
Pan: click and drag the image to bring the preferred area of focus into view after zooming or cropping
Crop: bring in the window border to hide unwanted sections of the image
Scale with Fixed Aspect Ratio: enlarge or shrink image size while retaining source image aspect ratio
Scale with Free Ratio: enlarge or shrink image size with no image proportion restrictions
  •  How to Cascade Units & Freely Display More than 4 Sources on 1 Screen
How to Cascade Units & Freely Display More than 4 Sources on 1 Screen
Cascade any number of SPLITMUX units, with one as the master unit and the others as slaves. A slave can also have slaves, and the SPLITMUX supports any number of slave levels. After connecting the slave to the master unit, configure the cascade using the Cascade Settings page on the Web Interface. Then, once connection has been established, use Custom Mode to configure the master and slave inputs as desired. Simply double click on a slave window display to access the video configuration for the slave unit. If a source image is desired as a background image, it is recommended to connect the source to the lowest level slave unit.

In this example, two units are configured in a master and slave cascade. We have source 1 as the background image, and source 2-3 as overlaying windowed displays in Custom mode for the slave unit. The remaining sources 4-6 are connected to the master unit, using Custom mode to configure each display window. To have the slave input as a background image, configure the corresponding video input as a full screen image in Custom mode, and sources 4-6 as windowed displays.

    Notes:
    1. If there is no input for a channel, its window will be white.
    2. If no layering is required, the order of inputs is inconsequential.
    3. If layering is pertinent to the display desired, it is recommended to connect the back layers to a slave unit and the front layers to a master unit.
  •  How to Configure and Access Slave Units in a Cascade Setup
How to Configure and Access Slave Units in a Cascade Setup
Any number of SPLITMUX units can be cascaded, and it supports any number of slave levels. After connecting the slaves to the master unit or slave levels, establish the cascade connection using the Cascade Settings page on the Web Interface. Then, once connection has been established, when viewing Custom Mode from the Master unit, all slave display windows will be shown. Simply double click on the corresponding slave display window to access a slave unit's settings and configure any changes in display settings.
