Network Technologies Inc is committed to the environment and the "going green" initiative.
Environmental Stewardship
We are committed to environmental awareness and the impact that our operations have on
the environment. Initiatives such as producing RoHS compliant products, reducing power
consumption in all products designed, responsible printing, and recycling are just some
of the ways that we are doing our part to minimize environmental impact.
RoHS
European Parliament and Council (EC) of the European Union (EU) approved a directive on
the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic
equipment. The directive became European Law in February 2003. The accepted abbreviation
for the directive is RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances).
The EU RoHS directive established a compliance date of July 1, 2006 for products sold in
the European market. NTI makes every effort to ensure that our products are compliant
with this directive, and is continuing to work with our supply chain partners to reduce
hazardous substances in electronic equipment.
All RoHS compliant products available on our website are marked with the RoHS logo:
Our Products
NTI makes every effort to minimize power consumption in all products designed, and
further reduces energy consumption with the inclusion of "standby" mode in some products.
Our product line specializes in KVM and audio/video solutions that improve efficiency,
reduce equipment and energy usage, and maximize space utilization. The powder coat
finishing on many of our products emits almost zero volatile organic compounds (VOCs),
resulting in less hazardous waste. Any overspray from applying the powder coat finish is
recyclable.
Printing
The 2009 and 2010 NTI catalogs are printed on Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) Mixed Sources stock
using soy based inks, and using wind power for energy.
NTI is committing to responsible environmental and social standards with the choice of
FSC paper stock and soy ink for our catalog. FSC stock comes from responsibly managed
forests, following guidelines that prohibit practices such as water pollution, use of
hazardous pesticides, habitat destruction, and unsustainable unverified logging. Soy
based inks used in printing contain far fewer VOCs than traditional petroleum based inks,
and allow for easier recycling of the paper.
Energy Consumption
At the company headquarters, energy consumption is reduced by switching off all
computers, monitors, printers and lights at the end of the day, and teleconferencing is
utilized to reduce trips. Compact Fluorescent and LED energy efficient lighting is used
throughout the facility.
Local Impact
During NTI's recent production facility expansions, consideration to the surrounding
environment and trees was a top priority. Minimal environmental impact was the result of
careful planning during the expansion.
Recycling
Employees are encouraged to recycle everything from steel, aluminum, a wide variety of
plastics, paper, cardboard, CDs, chemicals, batteries, and more in an effort to reduce
the amount of waste that goes to the landfills. Packing materials for outgoing shipments
are recycled from received shipments, and combined with biodegradable packaging.
