The SERIMUX® Secure SSH Console Serial Switch provides secure out-of-band access for up to 32 serial network devices via the internet, TCP/IP network, or dial-up modem connections. The console switch operates on a hardened Linux system with enhanced security features including Secure Shell (SSH v2), individual port authentication, and HTTPS.
Increase productivity with powerful diagnostic and event management features that allow the system administrator to gain access to servers without interrupting service to end-users. The console switch helps avoid costly downtime by monitoring critical environmental conditions such as temperature, humidity, and liquid presence. When conditions exceed a configurable threshold, the system will notify you via email, LEDs, web page, and network management (SNMP).
"The SERIMUX-S-4/16/32 Secure Console Switches are used for remote console access to our network switching. Up until now, we have been required to go on-site and plug directly into the console port of the network switches in order to make configuration changes. This product allows us to remotely configure the switching as if we were sitting right there plugged directly in."
"We are using the SERIMUX® Secure Console Switch in our remote locations in order to support our facilities when there is an outage. We connect a modem into one port, and our network hardware's console port into the rest of the ports. This gives us the ability to see what is going on with our routers as well as the core switches. We are very happy with the performance of the devices. So happy, in fact, that we have committed in purchasing one for every one of our facilities. I do recommend that you purchase more ports than what you need. You never know what the future brings. We have standardized on the 16 port for our smaller facilities and the 24 port for our larger ones."
"The SERIMUX-S-16DP is working great. The unit is deployed in one of our co-location facilities, and doing exactly what we need it to. We have been very happy with the product."
