ENVIROMUX-ACDCLM

Aurora, OH: Network Technologies Inc (NTI) today announced the addition of an AC and DC Voltage and Current Monitor to its popular line of environment monitoring sensors. The sensor can be used to measure and report AC and DC voltage, report AC and DC current, and is compatible with the ENVIROMUX-2D/5D/16D Enterprise Environment Monitoring Systems.

The ENVIROMUX-ACDCLM measures and reports AC and DC voltage, and reports AC and DC current measured with attached Hall-Effect transducers (sold separately). Current measurements require Hall-Effect transducers. With a polling rate of 1Sa/s, the unit features an AC voltage 2-pin terminal block, a DC voltage 2-pin terminal block, one rectifying Hall Effect 4-pin transducer interface for measuring AC current, and one rectifying Hall Effect 4-pin transducer interface for measuring DC current. Accuracy and range for current measurement is dependent on the transducer used.

Common applications for hall-effect sensors include: monitoring AC variable speed drives, static converters for DC motor drives, battery supplied applications, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), switched mode power supplies (SMPS), electrochemical systems, and power supplies for welding applications. NTI offers two types of hall-effect current sensors, solid-core and split-core. Solid-Core ENVIROMUX-AMPxx-6-5 transducers are available in rated currents of 10A, 20A, and 50A, with a loop diameter of 0.26" (6.5mm). Split-core ENVIROMUX-AMPxx-SC21 transducers are available in rated currents of 30A, 50A, 100A, 200A, and 500A, with a loop diameter of 0.83" (21mm).

The ENVIROMUX-ACDCLM connects directly to the ENVIROMUX-2D/5D/16D Enterprise Environment Monitoring System via a single CAT5/5e/6 cable up to 1,000 ft (305m) away. The Hall-Effect Current Sensors include a 7-ft 4-wire cable for connecting to the ENVIROMUX-ACDCLM, but can be extended by connecting longer wires using the included splices.

Available for immediate sale, the ENVIROMUX-ACDCLM costs $130 each.  The ENVIROMUX-AMPxx-6-5 and ENVIROMUX-AMPxx-SC21 hall-effect transducers cost $75 each.
