PRIMUX-RDSW Redundancy Switch (Front and Back)
AURORA, OH: Network Technologies Inc (NTI) announces the addition of the PRIMUX® Redundancy Switch as an optional support unit for its popular VGA KVM Matrix Switches via CAT5. The Redundancy Switch can instantaneously switch over all user stations and host adapter connections to a back-up Matrix Switch if the main unit fails.
The PRIMUX-RDSW Redundancy Switch immediately restores all connections between users and servers if the main PRIMUX VGA KVM Matrix Switch needs to be taken down for service. The position of a rocker switch on the unit determines which Matrix Switch is used. With dual redundant AC power, the unit will automatically, without interruption, switch over to the second power source if the first power source fails. These safeguards are ideal for broadcasting applications where downtime is measured in seconds.
The unit comes with female RJ45 input and output connectors. Up to 1,000 feet of CATx cable can separate the Host Adapters from the User Stations, including the longest length of cable between the Redundancy Switch and either of the Matrix Switches for flexible installations. The PRIMUX-RDSW supports the PRIMUX-8X32 and PRIMUX-16X64 VGA KVM Matrix Switches via CAT5, and all connected PRIMUX-UZR User Stations and Servers (connected using host adapters).
The PRIMUX VGA KVM Matrix Switch via CAT5 provides non-blocking access for up to 16 simultaneous users to up to 64 servers. The switch frees up valuable space by eliminating large KVM switchboxes and bulky hard-to-manage coax cables. Servers are discovered as they are powered up, and can be accessed immediately by authorized users. Platform-specific host adapters support a variety of host connections, which include PS/2, USB, SUN and Serial. Featuring video resolutions to 1920x1440, the unit automatically adjusts video quality to compensate for varying lengths of CATx cable. The VGA KVM Matrix Switch is an excellent solution for high-density server environments and the Redundancy Switch diminishes downtime.
